Will you be buying a curved smartphone?

Though LG's latest smartphone is called the "G Flex", I wouldn't try that if I were you. That said, like Samsung's new Galaxy Round, it is curved. Why? It is, to quote LG, "consumer-centric UX." The phones are seemingly normal in other respects, but for this oddity in LG's press release, quotes by The Verge's Vlad Savov:

Perhaps most unusually, LG says the G Flex uses "self-healing" technology that the Korean press release compares to Wolverine from X-Men: a special protective film on the back cover is designed to get rid of scratches on the phone within minutes.
