'Flight of the Conchords' Bret McKenzie inks Fox deal for animated series "in the world of NASA"

Bret McKenzie, whom you may recall from New Zealand's music-comedy duo Flight of the Conchords, is developing an animated comedy for Fox, reports TV Guide. The idea for the untitled show is Bret's, and will be "set in the world of NASA,"– but a deteriorating, demoralized NASA. Sounds like The IT Crowd goes to Loveland.

McKenzie is executive producing along with King of the Hill alums Tony Gama-Lobo and Rebecca May; all three are writing the project via 20th Century Fox TV. The untitled workplace comedy follows the exploits of a group of employees toiling away at an almost-obsolete NASA space center in Boulder, Colorado.
