Mega-malls are dying

Screen Shot 2014-05-13 at 9.01.56 AMHalf of U.S. malls will close in the next decade, says retail consultant Howard Davidowitz. It's because they don't offer anything the Internet can't deliver more conveniently and less expensively (other than a swell dinner at Sbarro). But outlet malls and high-end malls will flourish. "Novelty and exclusivity, he said, lure consumers away from their computers and into these malls."
