A reader suggested this fantastic Vivere double hammock as a permanent fixture on my deck. The platform is solid, the material long lasting, and the whole thing was a breeze to set up.
Last year I blogged about a lightweight camping hammock and stand. In the comments for that post, this Vivere hammock and stand were pointed out as low-cost alternative–the commenter was right! It is far larger and easily fits/supports two adults, as long as their combined weight is less than 450lbs. The hammock material itself is bright, durable and has taken over 365 days of environmental beating. The stand came together in moments and is holding up very well. Almost no rust to be seen, and I live fairly close to the ocean.
I'll still take the Gear Guide with me on van camping trips, but the Vivere double hammock is used nearly every day and many nights, because it's great to sleep in.
