I just found my copy of Richard Z. Chesnoff's Pack of Thieves: How Hitler and Europe Plundered the Jews and Committed the Greatest Theft in History. This is one of the most chilling books I've ever read.
Chesnoff explains the economic machine that was the Holocaust. From financing the greater war effort to helping out the non-jewish citizenry, the Final Solution was a fiscal jackpot for Germany and friends. Pack of Thieves walks you through an amazing tale of theft and takes you on a tour of countries still benefiting from these war treasures.
The book is well written and holds my attention in a way other history books can and do not. It is a dense but fast read and gave me new perspective on an important moment in history.
