"I may have the genetic coding that I'm inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that," Republican Texas governor Rick Perry said in remarks yesterday broadcast on a local television station. "And I look at the homosexual issue in the same way." This would not be particularly remarkable, were it not for the fact that Perry uttered this idiotic statement in the gayest metropolis of all: San Francisco.
