It's a damning turn of events in the horrible saga; after one of its officers was caught on video repeatedly smashing a homeless woman in the face, the force went to a psychiatric ward and seized her medical records.
The official account of the events and their followup are full of transparent bullshit. The officer who administered the beating claimed he was interested in the woman's safety, and beat the shit out of her out of concern because she'd been disoriented and wandering in traffic. The records were seized because the force wants to come to a "just conclusion" (and not find some excuse to deflect blame against one of its officers).
