WATCH: 1955 US Navy guide to living off the land

This video like a condensed version of a book I loved as a kid: The Survival Book, by Paul H. Nesbitt, Alonzo W. Pond and William H. Allen.

I bought a replacement copy recently and I still consider it one of the most engrossing books I've ever read. It shows you how to survive in any climate in any part of the world — stranded on an island, in a forest in the winter, in the desert. It has great true stories told by people who were shipwrecked, adrift in life rafts, lost in the forest, and managed to live. (Via Weird Universe)
