We're very excited to offer 5 pairs of VIP, all-access passes for the September 16 installment of the Twilight Series, a music event held at the historic Village Studios in West Los Angeles, co-hosted by Boing Boing.

In addition to meeting some of the performers, including the Reverend Shawn Amos, Jerome Holloway, and The Bart Davenport Blues Band, you'll get a private tour of the historic studios, join the crew in the control room during the live recording, and have access to the VIP lounge.

The Village Studios are truly historic. Built in the 1920s as a Masonic Temple, in the early 1960s it became home to the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Center for Transcendental Meditation. In the late sixties, the building was transformed into a recording studio where hundreds of artists made music–among them, Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers, The Beach Boys, Mariah Carey, Johnny Cash, Ray Charles, Eric Clapton, Alice Cooper, Elvis Costello, The Doors, Bob Dylan, The Eagles, George Harrison, Weezer, Elton John, Tom Jones, B.B. King, John Lennon, Little Richard, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Ringo Starr.

We had a blast at the last Twilight Session there, and promise this one will be even more fun.

What we love about The Village is not just the beautiful building, but the sense of community and history you feel in this wonderful space. Studio CEO Jeff Greenberg's love of music, musicians and deep understanding of what makes the creative spirit thrive is palpable. His tales of epic rock, funk, and jazz history that has taken place within those walls, and how he and his team have fought to keep it all going, are amazing to hear.

If you'd like to attend on Saturday, September 13, send an email to inquiries@boingboing.net telling us why you want to come hang out and listen to excellent music with me, Jason, and other Boingers. Five lucky friends of Boing Boing, and that means maybe you, will get the passes. You must be 21 or over, and will be asked to present ID at the door.

Below: Music from each of the three artists mentioned above, who are booked for this evening. Reverend Shawn Amos, Jerome Holloway, and The Bart Davenport Blues Band. The Rev. Shawn Amos video was shot inside the Village!
