Ethan Persoff has a website called Comics with Problems where he posts old comic books about VD, diabetes, segregation, birth control, poison prevention, etc. His latest find is a doozy.
Been looking for this cork-popper for over a decade and am really delighted to share it. Unkept Promise is a temperance comic from the super-hero sounding LEGION OF TRUTH, published in 1949. As anti-alcohol comics go, this is top shelf, undilluted, and completely drunk with themes and memorable panels: Wife Beating, Prostitution, Vice, it's got it all! (Why are these cautionary screeds always so RACY!)
