Mysteries of the Criminal Mind is a fascinating read, but not for the light-hearted

Focusing on historical and modern-day crime, mostly in the United States, Mysteries of the Criminal Mind takes a look at the social environment, upbringing, genetics, DNA, and other factors that comprise the minds of kidnappers, rapists, murderers, and large-scale thieves and scammers.

It explains the difference between a psychopath and sociopath, and examines the tools and techniques authorities use to track down criminals. But the meat of the book examines our most notorious high-profile crimes and criminals, including the Lindbergh kidnapping, Bonnie and Clyde, Patty Hearst, Charles Manson, Jim Jones, the Zodiac Killer, Ed Gein, teen murderer Amy Fischer, Roman Polanski, Phil Spector, Jared Loughner, Bernie Madoff and many many others. A fascinating read, but not for the light-hearted.
