Greg L. Romero, accused "Gummy Bear Bandit" (or, for purists, "Gummi.")

Police say Greg L. Romero was the man caught on surveillance video walking into an Albuquerque convenience store, grabbing a handful of gummy bears, walking out and tossing some of the candy at the door.

Video of the incident shows the clerk follow Romero out. That's when Romero tried to run the clerk over in his car.

He is wanted for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, receiving and transferring a stolen motor vehicle and criminal damage over $1,000.

If you have any information on the Romero's whereabouts, please contact Det. Larranaga with the APD Northwest Impact at 505-768-4850.

That seems like a lot of trouble to go through for Gummi Bears (yes, with an "i" but also known as "gummy bears" to non-purists) when you can buy a 5-pound bag on Amazon for $13.1280px-Gummy_bears
