The Six Million Dollar Man, season 1

Colonel Steve Austin nearly died in a fiery space accident. The Office of Scientific Intelligence rebuilt him better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.

Lee Majors plays Col. Steve Austin, an American Astronaut who suffers indignity after indignity. After his poorly engineered aircraft explodes around him, Austin awakes more machine than man. Turned into a cyborg, ostensibly to save his life but more accurately done in the name of reckless human experimentation, Steve is now a nuclear powered secret agent. I find Richard Anderson's Oscar Goldman the most interesting character in the series, and I love his style.

I'd forgotten how bad Lee Majors; acting is in this. I'm hoping he improves in later seasons, Majors allows Shatner's TV Kirk to look brilliant. The story telling is funny, and I really enjoy the sound effects. I am surprised at how I'd missed the action sounds that come into play when Steve uses his bionics.

For $10 this DVD is a bargain. It comes with the pilots/made-for-TV movies and all of Season 1.
