The creators of the game Year Walk have prepared a special treat for us: a free e-book of Swedish scary stories to tell in the dark. Described as "newly written ancient folk tales," these dark fables take place within the world of Year Walk, a haunting game based on Swedish folklore.

Although it's already available on iOS and Steam, Year Walk will soon make its way to the Wii U, which is what inspired Simogo to release these "bedtime stories for awful children." from Like a lot of fairy tales, a lot of these stories serve as frightening rebukes for children (or adults) of bad character; I particularly enjoyed "The Huldra," a fable about a handsy jerk who can't stop inappropriately touching women, and how he gets his supernatural comeuppance.

The developers note that it's also been translated into French, Spanish, German and Italian, "because we think obnoxious children all over the world deserve dark nightmares." You can download all the versions for free here.
