A Good Guy With a Gun

If the only answer to "a bad guy with a gun" is "a good guy with a gun," we are totally screwed.


This Daily Show segment does a good job of demolishing the "good guy with a gun" talking point (after first hilariously demonstrating that it is a talking point), but doesn't get into the dumbest part of "good guy/bad guy" — the idea that there's such a thing as "good guys" and "bad guys" in the first place. It's the same stupidity that we got after the London riots, when the UK government declared that the riots were caused by "pure and simple criminality", which is apparently either a kind of pollen that alights on people and makes them bad, or a genetic mutation, but is in any event not something we should try to understand.
