Lately, we've been on a simplicity kick and have sold or given away lots of our stuff. I've gotten rid of a whole bunch of books and knick-knacks, but we've still got an unbelievable amount of stuff to put into storage before we move to the islands. We'll be paying over US$500 a month to store it in Los Angeles. We were paying less than that for a utilities-included apartment when we moved to Los Angeles in 1990! The boxes shown here are just a fraction of what remains to be packed. We have two weeks to pack the rest, and it is hard to find time to get any packing done because we have a 7-week-old baby to take care of.
