![]() [17 days to go before we leave for the islands] Tapuaetai, also known as One Foot Island, is off the island of Aitutaki, and is one of the most beautiful islets, or motus, in the Cook Islands. Its long stretch of sugary sand and shallow translucent water has been compared to the beauty of Tahiti's Bora Bora. We’re planning to live (short term!) on one of the Cooks' uninhabited motus once we've learned the basics, such as how to fish, husk coconuts, and spot dangerous tropical critters. -- CarlaPrevious photo. | On June 21, 2003, Mark Frauenfelder and Carla Sinclair moved from Los Angeles to the South Pacific. Our first stop is Rarotonga, a tiny island in the South Pacific. We're bringing our two young daughters with us.
This is our story, one photograph at a time.
