I was approached by The Folio Society last year to see if I would be up for working on some illustrations for their planned collection of stories from H.P. Lovecraft, 'The Call of Cthulhu & Other Weird Stories', and after a bit of figuring out whether I'd be able to do it justice, due to having preparations for a solo show on the boil at the same time, I jumped right in and ended up having a large hand in its overall design too.

Walking today in Upmarket in Brick Lane, London, I was delighted to stop in at Dan Hiller's stall and discover a whole range of new "alterted engravings," including this smashing collage called Forest.
Dan says: "Here'e the new video for Losers' debut single 'Flush,' featuring work by me, animated by Tom Werber. Took a few months on a miniscule budget but here it is."

At the Brick Lane Upmarket in East London today, I was delighted to discover that Dan Hillier — he of the wonderfully demented remixed Victorian woodcuts — had two new ink drawings of a woodsy, autumnal nature.

George K's tumblr, Olex Oleole, is a beautiful running feed of gloriously weird remixes of Victorian woodcuts, in the style of the brilliant Dan Hillier.

Today's How to Be a Retronaut features two compelling and beautiful "Timenaut" illustrations by Paula Braconnot, whose work reminds me favorably of the wonderful Dan Hillier.
Library of America has announced a slipcased two-volume set collecting Lynd Ward's gorgeous, Depression-era woodcut "novels" — wordless, book-length stories told in stark imagery. Tugboat Printshop of Pittburgh has a series of beautiful hand-carved nautical woodcuts for sale, under the banner "Deep Blue Sea." These really are lovely.
