With the help of 1.35 million PC users, an Oxford University team's dsitributed computing project cranked through 3.5 million potential anthrax-treating compounds and came up with 300,000 possible new drugs. "We managed to search the complete dataset in just four weeks instead of years," one of the researchers says.
