Gene Deitch, the former art director for UPA (the cartoon studio that made Gerald McBoingBoing) and the illustrator for a 1940s jazz magazine called the Record Changer (see his book, The Cat on a Hot Thin Groove), and the father of underground cartoonist Kim Deitch, is going to be showing a bunch of his great old cartoons at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.
