Egypt has fired its voluble antiquities minister, Dr. Zahi Hawass. Among the few top government officials to keep his position through the revolution, his overbearing, Discovery Channel-friendly style and a recent graft conviction ultimately saw him out of his job: "He was the Mubarak of antiquities," said one archeologist.
