Listen at left to "Lysergic Acid Diethylamide," from Nik Raicevic's Head (1970), an epic journey of Moog komische music via Los Angeles. On the same album are "Cannabis Sativa" and "Methedrine." The text on the cover says, "Inside you will find something colorful to do with your hands while you're listening to this album." Apparently, that referred to a psychedelic coloring book included with the LP. According to AllMusic, Raicevic "eventually put out five albums on his own Narco label after being dumped from Buddah for being too influenced by drugs." During that creatively fertile period, Raicevic also played percussion on the Rolling Stones' Goats Head Soup. Around 1975 though, he bailed on the music scene entirely and sold his massive Moog to ambient music pioneer Steve Roach. Hear more of Head via the excellent Mutant Sounds blog.
