The work of dutch artist Diddo, Ecce Animal is purported to be made from "street sourced" cocaine and gelatin. The artist also describes the laboratory process used to determine the purity of the product and create the work.
"The retention time of our sample matched the Cocaine standard, albeit with a much smaller peak," reports Diddo. "This is because the sample is diluted with so-called 'cutting agents'. The purity of the Cocaine in percentage lies in the range of approximately 15% to 20%. Further constituent components identified included Phenacetin, Caffeine, Paracetamol and a relative large percentage of sugars, most probably Mannitol or Inositol."
Sounds like some pretty shitty coke. The dimensions are listed at 12x18x22cm: assuming $60 a gram, any guesses on street value?
