The 2013 median salary for people graduating with bachelor's degrees in journalism graduates is $32,000 in most of the US.

In the northeast, including NYC, it's a whopping $35K, according to a study by the University of Georgia's Grady College [PDF].

Salaries reported by grads in magazines "were $5,000 lower than a year before," said the study, and consumer magazines paid the absolute worst. We're shocked.
