Hong Kong protest: drone flyover

YouTube Poster

The throngs of Hong Kong pro-democracy demonstrators, captured by Nero Chan's drone.

The movement was sparked by Beijing's pronouncement that all candidates in the elections for administrator of Hong Kong would have to meet with the central Chinese authority's approval, by way of a committee that it chose and packed with oligarch loyalists. But it was catalyzed by a violent crackdown on a walkout of high-school students, and the movement's grievances have expanded to encompass disgust at China's growing wealth-disparity (it's no coincidence that part of the movement calls itself "Occupy Central").
