I hate changing guitar strings. These coated extra light ones last me a very long time.
Even with the right tools, I hate changing my guitar strings. I've long wanted to find coated strings that I really liked, and felt lasted a long time. Cleartone is the winner. I've apparently settled on these as my go to strings.
The coating on these Cleartones is so light as to be invisible. I don't feel plastic on them at all. Even on low E, which becomes a flaky peeling mess with Elixir brand strings, I do not notice it is there. These strings ring clear and true, and they stay in tune once they've been stretched a bit.
I get 6 months or more life out of them before I notice I could change these Cleartones, and I practice a little every day.
I do have a box of D'Addario EXPs around still, and I like them too.
