I grab hot stuff with these $10 silicone oven mitts. They offer more grip and better dexterity than pot holders.
All my cloth oven mitts have gotten filthy and no amount of washing seems to really help. I decided to try these cheap silicone oven mitts. I really like them!
They're five-fingered, and especially handy when transferring skillets from stove to oven or moving a large pot from one burner to another. These silicon gloves are a lot less clumsy than cloth. I do find myself using a kitchen towel to make small adjustments to pan handles, however, as putting these on and taking them off for quick motions isn't worth it.
Good up to 425ºF, the gloves are also great for moving steaks around on a BBQ grill. No more damaging a filet with fork or tongs, just grab the steak and move it where you want it.
