Wolfram sets out to improve image identification

Tineye and Google Images can both find other copies of images out there on the net, but they don't guess much about what it is. Wolfram Alpha's set out to improve matters with a new image identification tool.

Imageidentify does what it says in the URL, at least in principle: feed it a picture, and it takes a guess at what it is. Quick take: startlingly good at the sort of thing that would have an encyclopaedia article, and generally not so hot at anything that involves culture and context.
