Having raised $1.7M from an auction of Disneyland memorabilia and rarities earlier this year, Van Eaton Galleries are holding a second auction of cast-offs from the Disney themeparks.
The highlight of this auction is a Peoplemover car that is expected to go for over $200,000, and would make an amazing breakfast nook. There's also a really nice selection of original memos and policy documents for Disneyland exhibitors, WED stationery, passes and tickets, ads, etc. Pricier items will be the original concept art including art for the Monsanto House of the Future and the Space Mountain show building.
I'm most interested in the textiles and artifacts: Frontierland-themed Mickey Mouse club costumes, a Haunted Mansion butler's uniform, a real skybucket and Space Mountain ride vehicle, and a Haunted Mansion intrusion detection status panel (squee!).
The PeopleMover car is expected to go for $200,000, the Rocket to the Moon poster for $15,000, and the Dumbo concept art by original Imagineer Bruce Bushman for $5,000 to $7,000.

Beneath the Sugar Sky is the third novella in Seanan McGuire's wonderful Wayward Children series, following from 2016's Every Heart a Doorway and 2017's Down Among the Sticks and Bones, chronicling the lives of the children who've accidentally returned from the magical kingdoms they adventured in, who haunt Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children praying that the door to their true homes will return and they can vanish into it forever.
I love Jen Wang's work: her debut graphic novel Koko Be Good was thought-provoking and challenging and beautiful; "In Real Life," her adaptation of my story Anda's Game took the tale to places that delighted and surprised me -- today, Firstsecond publishes The Prince and the Dressmaker, which I believe will be her breakout graphic novel.
JUMPSUIT is a "counter-fashion" created by "Marxist fashion designers" who solicited Ivanka Trump clothing to be shredded and rewoven into black and white fabric that is custom-made into one of 248-sized "ungendered multi-use monogarments," which come in fitted and unfitted (the winter line has long sleeves and the summer line has short sleeves).
Trains may not be the most popular means of conveyance nowadays, but chances are you grew up playing with toy trains or building a model set to wrap around the Christmas tree. In either case, it’s safe to say that locomotives have long carried a unique sense of awe and scale, especially when they’re hundreds […]

For many startups and fledgling businesses, web hosting — and the fees associated with it — can take a sizeable chunk out of the company budget and limit growth down the road. But, that’s not to say there aren’t hosts out there who can get your site online while staying within your budget. Arch Hosting is a […]
