Syrian refugees placed in hotel hosting a furry convention

Syrian refugees who found their way to Canada have been placed in a hotel hosting a furry convention. Wonderfully surreal scenes of displaced kids dancing with fursuiters were captured on video and posted to YouTube. The New York Daily News described an "aww-inspiring" encounter.

Furries may have also been particularly well fursuited to bridge the language barrier between Arabic and English.

Because talking in a giant mesh head is difficult, furries traditionally use mascot-style gestures to communicate rather than speaking.

Canada is welcoming 25000 refugees this year, but struggling to find permanent homes for them.
