My photographer friend Clayton Cubitt, whom I met here in the Boing Boing comments a decade ago, did an amazing project to support the campaign of U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders.
From Clayton's post about the images he shot for Veterans for Bernie Sanders:
I was proud to donate my efforts as a photographer and creative director for this social media campaign in support of a group of military veterans that advocate for the presidential candidacy of Bernie Sanders.
I spent a day photographing portraits of each veteran, as well as personally-significant artifacts of their service, from uniform patches, to medals, to dusty combat boots that were worn on deployment.
The campaign pairs the images I created with quotes from the vets about what Bernie's candidacy means to them, through the lens of their service.
Dozens of variations were created for people to share on social media, and are housed on a dedicated site, along with quotes from the candidate, and his campaign video referencing veterans and their service.

She took this photo of Florence Owens Thompson with her children in 1936 in Nipomo, California and titled it “Migrant Mother.” “I saw and approached the hungry and […]
Amateur astrophotographer Ethan Chappel was using his telescope to look for Perseid meteors on Wednesday night when he happened to capture an image of something very large slamming into Jupiter. It was most likely a massive meteor. From Sky and Telescope: After running the camera data through a program designed to alert the user to […]
If there’s one thing that stayed consistent through the last decade or so of tech industry turmoil, it’s the love affair between techies and Linux. There’s just a ton you can do with the OS, and its open-source format means you can customize your rig from the ground up. Apparently not content with that level […]

Self-driving cars, airline pricing, and huge marketing campaigns are all driven by the insights that data scientists can distill out of vast sums of information. Even with the help of powerful software like Python, it’s a highly skilled position. But those skills […]
