"It's not easy having a good time."
A short but sweet new trailer for Fox's all-new production of the 1975 cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's scheduled to air around Halloween 2016.
As a child of the 1970s and a teen of the 1980s who came of age during an era of midnight screenings with fellow suburban outcasts, I am skeptical but hopeful. You don't fuck with the classics. An entire generation of queer, trans, gay, bi, nonconforming freaks like myself grew up with the original. Susan Sarandon and Meatloaf, people, and it was 100.
This time around, Laverne Cox is 'sweet transvestite' and evil mad sex scientist Frank-n-Furter, and you can tell she's gonna be incredible in the role. Plus, Tim Curry makes a reprise. And uptight bathroom-obsessed transphobic America needs a little hot poker up the ass right now.
Every person who sees this new remake in Fall, 2016 should be legally required to watch the original. [AMZN]
