Isis Shiffer just won a Dyson design award for the EcoHelmet, an ingenious paper helmet that folds down to the size of a banana but offers significant noggin protection.
Shiffer was inspired by the lack of helmets available with rideshare bikes. She wanted to come up with an inexpensive option that could be sold from a vending machine or carried in a bag. The crush tests are especially impressive. Let's hope this gets fully tested and out in the world soon!
