Freaked out about Trump's assault on net neutrality? Come work for EFF on keeping the net free and open

Trump's FCC is shaping up to be a complete disaster: the new Chairman is dismantling privacy protections and broadband subsidies for low-income Americans, plans to allow the pending Time-Warner/AT&T merger, and, of course, he's planning to gut net neutrality.

If you're like me, you've listened to the drumbeat of terrible FCC news with increasing dread and low morale, uncertain of what you could do. The internet — the nervous system of the 21st century — is being turned into a monopolist's playground, and America will fall even farther behind the rest of the world in broadband provision and value for money.

But now there's something you can do: EFF is hiring a net neutrality activist.

The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco, is seeking a full-time writer for the activism team. This position will focus on net neutrality and a range of intellectual property issues, and will have adaptability to cover a wide range of other issues as well.
The ideal candidate will have passion for protecting freedom online and the ability to think critically and prioritize time effectively. You can respond quickly, usually in writing, to urgent deadlines while maintaining a focus on long-term goals and EFF's core values. You excel at bringing people together to work for a common purpose, keeping a positive attitude while navigating disagreements. You're adept at implementing: finding solutions and adapting to changes as ideas turn into projects and campaigns. You are an unusually strong writer, capable of articulating the most complicated legal and technical issues with grace. You are a superb storyteller.
