Congresswoman Diane Black [R-TN] blames school shootings on "pornography"

"[Pornography is] available on the shelf when you walk in the grocery store. Yeah, you have to reach up to get it, but there's pornography there. All of this is available without parental guidance. I think that is a big part of the root cause." -Congresswoman Diane Black [R-TN]

Later, Black expanded the list of root causes of school shootings to include "deterioration of the family," as well as mental illness and violent movies.

Black did not explain how every other country in the world has access to the same pornography and violent movies, the same genetic factors contributing to mental illness, and comparable levels of single-parent families, but only America has a school-shootings problem. Presumably Black is an American exceptionalist who believes that Americans' moral fiber is weaker than that of foreigners and that's why other countries respond to these crises so much more gracefully than the USA does.

Black serves the people of Tennessee alongside of Rep Marsha Blackburn, who denies climate change and evolution and is Net Neutrality's most ardent detractor in Congress.

Black didn't clarify what it is about porn that she thinks is leading to school massacres. Her congressional spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.

Beyond naughty movies, Black said school shootings are on the rise because of the "deterioration of the family," mental illness and violent movies.
