Trump says houses of worship 'essential,' if governors don't obey his reopen demands he will 'override'

Trump: 'I will override the governors' if they stop houses of worship from reopening

Impeached president Donald Trump threatened states' rights today.

"If they don't do it, I will override the governors."

Trump announced on Friday the CDC will issue guidance for houses of worship to reopen, and Trump says churches are essential services. He said he wants reopening to happen right now, as in, this very weekend, coronavirus spreading be damned.

"The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open right now," Trump said at press briefing on churches reopening. "For this weekend. If they don't do it, I will override the governors."
