Pentagon to remove Confederate names from military assets within 3 years

Some breaking news on this Thursday morning, as Black Lives Matter protests around the country tear down racist Civil War monuments in cities like Richmond, Virginia.

The GOP-led Senate Armed Services Committee has today adopted an amendment behind closed doors for the Pentagon to remove the names of all Confederate generals from military assets within three years.

Previously, the White House said President Trump will block any effort by the Pentagon or the Congress to re-name military bases which bear the names of Confederate soldiers.
