I'm a big Mountain Goats fan, and I've always rejected comparisons between them and the work of Bob Dylan. Sure, they're both literary lyric-driven, largely-acoustic artists (except when not) with distinctive vocal styles that some people might find cloying. But they're different, because … of reasons.
