This smart sleep mask detects and gently stops your snoring

Whether you want to admit it or not, there's a good chance you're a snorer. As it turns out, 45 percent of the population snores, with about 25 percent in the category of regular snorers. That's almost 37 million people in the U.S. alone.

If you're snoring, you're generating noise that probably averages around 50 to 65 decibels, which is about the sound level of a typical office or normal conversation. That might not sound too horrible (especially if you're making the noise and sleeping through it), but the effects can be pretty catastrophic. According to one study, snoring is the third-ranking cause for divorce in the U.S., coming in just behind infidelity and financial problems.

Nobody wants to end up there. Thankfully, new technologies are bringing efforts to combat snoring into the 21st century. Where age-old wives' tales about gargling with garlic, duct tape, or singing God Save the Queen produce questionable results, the VVFly Smart Snore Eye Mask turns all the powers of new technology toward solving the problem and giving a snorer and their loved one a good night's sleep.

The mask itself is made from nylon and an ecologically soft high-density sponge that actually feels comfortable to wear. But of course, the true value is in its ability to both detect, then help stop snoring or at least cut down on the frequency of snoring episodes per night.

The heart of the mask is the computer brain inside the main sensor array. It uses bone conduction and voice recognition to know when someone is snoring, then deploys up to 36 levels of vibration to disrupt the pattern. Those progressive micro-vibrations gently stir the wearer, which encourages the body to adjust the throat muscles that constrict breathing and actually cause the snoring. It's as simple as putting it on, turning it on, and letting the mask do its thing.

The mask also connects via Bluetooth to the Sleeplus companion app, which collects and monitors data on your snoring each night as well as the overall health of the user's sleep.

Regularly $99, the VVFly Snore Eye Mask is now on sale at a price that's even better than Amazon, now just $58.95.
