GOP State Sen. Andre Jacque from De Pere, Wisconsin vehemently opposes mask and vaccine mandates, but he is in favor of getting a precious hospital bed when he comes down with Covid-19.
Jacque's diagnosis comes as Wisconsin is experiencing a new surge of COVID-19 cases driven by a new variant of the virus that is more transmissible. It's the first uptick of cases since vaccines became widely available in the state earlier this year.
Jacque testified on Wednesday before two committee hearings in the Wisconsin State Capitol. He testified without a mask during at least one of the hearings, which was packed and where not everyone was wearing face coverings.
Jacque played coy with the Journal Sentinal when he sent a message to the paper that said, "Unfortunately, I am now at the hospital with pneumonia, which I have had previously."
