"This is a thing that's been around for a great many years," says the Secretary of the Air Force about UFOs

Bryan Bender is a senior reporter at Politico who covers the Pentagon, NASA, defense, and aerospace. This week, he had an opportunity to speak with Frank Kendall, the new Secretary of the US Air Force. As the leader of the Department of the Air Force, Kendall "directs strategy, policy, acquisitions, technology, personnel, and risk management." Bender asked Kendall about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and whether the Air Force should be "defending American airspace against unidentified aircraft."

"If asked to do that then we will do it," Kendall said. "This is a thing that's been around for a great many years."
