Man convicted of murdering trans teen Nikki Kuhnhausen

David Bogdanov, 27, killed Nikki Kuhnhausen, 17, when he found out she had a penis. He claimed self-defense but the evidence showed that he flew into a rage, strangled her with a cord, then dumped the body in a remote location where it was not found for six months. A jury today convicted him of Kuhnhausen's murder.

Under questioning, he acknowledged that he would have found it "humiliating" if his family found out that he had been with a transgender woman. Sentencing is set for September 9.
