Red Delicious is perhaps the biggest misnomers in the entire realm of fruits and vegetables. They're mealy, mild, and wholly unexciting compared to such greats as the Gala, Fuji, and Granny Smith. So how come the Red Delicious was America's favorite Apple for more than 70 years? And why has it finally fallen from grace?
