Kids wearing radar backpacks in effort to get drivers to slow down in school zones

In Quebec, Canada, police are outfitting kids with digital radar speed signs on their backpacks that indicate how fast drivers are going in school zones.

First tested in Laval, police there said that "used as a preventive measure, they attract the attention of drivers and naturally encourage them to reduce their speed. The speed sign also provides a quick reminder of the importance of being alert and attentive when driving."
