MacBooks are among the best all-purpose computers you can get for your money. The problem is that even the box on these things looks expensive. However, MacBooks are a lot cheaper if you consider a refurbished one. Plus, it's a lot better for the environment. This restored MacBook Air is $239.99, and it's still got a lot going for it.

"Refurbished" may sound like a nicer way of saying used, but this MacBook has limited signs that anyone ever used it. It has a refurbished grade of "B," meaning it could have some light scuffing or scratches, but it shouldn't be anything a case wouldn't cover anyway. Everything else should work fine.

That "everything else" includes a 13.3-inch Retina display with a 1440 x 900 resolution and the same amazing vivid colors Apple's known for. Of course, the integrated Intel HD Graphics 6000 graphics unit is also partially to thank for those stunning colors, so throw on a nature documentary and see how beautiful nature can still look from the comfort of your couch. You can even connect your Bluetooth earbuds to feel like David Attenborough is right there next to you.

This MacBook runs with 4GB of RAM and a 128GB hard drive. It should be able to run plenty of low and mid-spec apps like Microsoft Office or other professional software, but you may not want to use it for super-demanding work. If you have brand new games to play or a six-hour video to render, you may want to look to another device. Still, if you're looking for a computer to do work, browse the internet, or stream television, this laptop should have you covered.

Don't want to spend a ton on a brand-new computer? Get a refurbished Apple 13.3-inch MacBook Air for $239.99 (reg. $1,199).
