Back in June, Comrade Beschizza announced the news of a forthcoming Ikea record player, the Obegränsad. That turntable is out now and Frank at Channel 33 RPM on YouTube decided to give it a good spin.
So, what did he think? Meh. For US$160, the sound quality is only so-so, the housing for it is cheap plastic, and you can't switch the pre-amp on and off. As Frank concludes, it might be OK for a beginner vinyl enthusiast, but even then, there are much better offerings at a similar price.
