Here's a video from 1950 that shows barbers practicing their shaving skills on an inflated balloon. I love how there is a face drawn on the balloon (just in case the barber needed a reminder that this was practice for a real person).
Unfortunately, the balloon man did not survive the procedure. RIP, balloon man!
Hopefully, this barber didn't pop too many human heads once they began shaving real customers.
