Mike Mignola's wonderfully strange Lands Unknown universe keeps getting stranger.
Dark Horse Comics has announced Uri Tupka and the Devils, a new 104-page graphic novel that continues the adventures of Mignola's wandering theologian, heretic, and lodestone for all manner of supernatural trouble. Written and drawn by Mignola, with colors by longtime collaborator Dave Stewart and letters by Clem Robins, the book arrives November 16, 2026.
If Uri Tupka and the Gods followed Uri's search for evidence that ancient gods shaped the world and hold the darkness at bay, the new volume sends him off to look for answers to even deeper questions. Having found some of what he was looking for, he only acquired a fresh set of mysteries in the process. Uri presses ever onward in search of the truth about the darkness that existed before the world began. And, naturally, that quest leads him to a nightmare castle full of devils.
Uri finds himself studying in a creepy baron's library piled high with esoteric tomes beyond even his overactive imagination. Each night brings new revelations, but also the danger of being consumed by his own relentless need to understand.
"See Uri change shape, tumble through his own inner workings, and take a pretty savage beating," says Mignola. "I put the poor guy through the wringer in this one and I feel a little bad about that, but you gotta do what you gotta do, and these Lands Unknown are not all sunshine and flowers."
Having thoroughly enjoyed Uri Tupka and the Gods, this promised drubbing sounds entirely on brand. Mignola seems to be having a devilishly good time drawing this world into existence, a world where ancient gods, talking animals, witches, monsters, and roadside theological debates all coexist within tales that feel equal parts folktale and half-remembered nightmare.
