Gâteau Gato, a zoetrope of cat confections

French food artist/animator Alexandre Dubosc has done it again. He's created another incredibly impressive zoetrope, this time with a cat theme (previously). It's called "Gâteau Gato" ("cat cake") and it is really quite a delight to watch. I'm not sure which I like better, the curling cookie tongues or the little white mice scurrying away. — Read the rest

Zoetrope cake pays tribute to Tim Burton

Confectioner Alexandre Dubosc made this Tim Burton themed zoetrope cake, which animates to display iconic imagery from many of Burton's best-loved films. There's even a sneaky Jack Skellington up top.

Edible animation

Alexandre Dubosc's short film "Alimation" shows a series of ingenious and extremely appetizing animations made with food, culminating in a really sweet (heh) zoetrope effect.
