This ska-jazz cover of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme is everything

I'm a little late to the party as I've just discovered the fantastic world of YouTuber Pickitup's ska covers! K.K. Slider himself would be impressed by his ska-jazz cover of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons theme. Now, if that's not your thing, Pickitup's got a huge catalog of other ska/[insert music genre here] covers on his channel Ska Tune Network that are sure to delight.

From his Patreon:

I have been given this gift and love for music, and i've chosen to do the most important thing I can possibly think of with it, and that's to create ska covers of various songs.

This entire journey began on christmas of 2016, when I jokingly posted on facebook saying I should make a bad ska cover of a christmas song, and everyone encouraged me to actually do it, so I did it and people loved it, so since then I've been using my resourses to record myself playing guitar, bass, trumpet, trombone, saxophone, keyboard, and sometimes unconventional instruments like viola, ukulele, euphonium, and honestly anything I can get my hands on to create covers of songs I find interesting or songs other people tell me I should do!

Here's another fun one: A ska-punk one of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy."

Billie Eilish asked same interview questions, TWO years after becoming a much bigger star

In 2017, Vanity Fair asked then-15-year-old rising star Billie Eilish a series of questions. A year later, they brought her back and asked the same questions. In that year, she had jumped from 257K Instagram followers to 6.3M. That interview revealed how fame had changed her life in just one short year. Well, in this new, much-anticipated interview, Billie is 17, has over 40M followers, has hosted and performed on SNL, and was just nominated for six Grammy awards. Same questions, same surprisingly self-reflective and humble young artist.

As of this writing, she's now 18 and has over 43M IG followers. She's also since won two American Music Awards (New Artist and Alternative Artist).

With a little bit of TV trickery, Billie Eilish was able to perform her hit "bad guy" upside down on Saturday Night Live.

Duh.

Ms. Eilish isn't the only talent to perform upside down live on SNL. You may remember that Penn & Teller did it first in 1986. Read the rest

Billie Eilish asked same interview questions, one year after becoming a much bigger star

2018 was a big year for 16-year-old singer/songwriter Billie Eilish. Her rise to stardom can be measured in numbers. Last year at this time, she had 257,000 followers on Instagram and she now has 6.3 million. The most people she had performed in front of was just 500, and now that number's at 40,000. The jump to fame has had a price though and I think you'll be surprised at how tenderly she mourns the less-famous, more innocent "Billie" of just last year.

On October 18th, 2017, after a busy day of promotional interviews in New York City, Billie Eilish met with Vanity Fair to discuss the 15-year-old’s breakthrough success. On October 18th, 2018, after a long day of pre-tour rehearsals, Billie spoke with VF again to answer the exact same questions and look back at a time capsule of her answers from last year.
